Nelson’s bulk order of bear-proof garbage bins is expected to arrive in mid-October.
Municipal services manager Chris Gainham says they’ll sell them to residents at cost.
But that should be a lot less than you would pay to buy an individual one.
The bins in question were recommended by Wildsafe BC.
The city has ordered 100 of them and they’ll be available first come, first-serve.
