Housing co-ordinator to be hired in Kaslo

The Kaslo Housing Society will hire a co-ordinator thanks to a Columbia Basin Trust social grant.

The $50,000 will be added to $14,000 from the local economic development commission to fund the position for about a year and a half.

Society chair Erika Bird says the new position will be a resource for landlords and people looking to rent.

The co-ordinator will also work on the society’s plans to build housing on village-owned land.

Bird says it’s not easy to find a place to live in Kaslo.

They’re hoping to have someone in place by the end of January.
