Another Disaster Day event happening in Nelson

The City of Nelson and Nelson Fire and Rescue Services are helping residents prepare for emergencies. They’re hosting another Disaster Day on May 5 where emergency response and supporting agencies will have information booths and vehicles set up along Hall Street. The last one was hosted in 2016  and was said to be successful and worthwhile. Fire Chief Len McCharles says they’re also planning to launch a new emergency alert system.

He hopes it’s up and running for Disaster Day, but if not they can start collecting contact information.

Disaster Day will run from 11:00-3:00.
