Drug seizure made by Nelson Police

The Nelson Police Department say a report of suspicious activity lead to the seizure of suspected fentanyl and meth this week.

On Monday, October 8 at 9:21 PM Nelson Police responded to the report in the area of 90 Lakeside Drive on CP Rail property. Upon arrival, the officer located a male and female associated to a minivan parked nearby. A traffic stop was conducted and both parties were identified.

As a result of an investigation conducted at the scene, both parties were arrested and a subsequent vehicle search yielded a significant amount of suspected Fentanyl and Methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $16,000. A significant amount of cash was also seized during the search.

Both parties are previously known to police and were charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Trafficking in a Controlled Substance with a future court date of January 8, 2019.
