Layoffs announced at Pacific Insight

There were layoffs announced at Pacific Insight near Nelson this Wednesday, October 17. The company was purchased by Methode Electronics Inc. just over a year ago.

Kristine Walczak Vice President, Corporate Communications with Methode confirmed the layoffs impact employees in automotive production. She didn’t say how many jobs were lost but that there are still over 100 employees at the plant in the commercial vehicles department.

Walczak says the automotive production jobs will now be located at their Mexico facility after economic pressure in the automotive industry.

The layoffs are effective October 31.
