Construction now underway on Arrow Lakes Hospital ED improvements

Improvements to the emergency department at the Arrow Lakes Hospital should be completed this winter. That from Interior Health who says construction is underway at the Nakusp facility.

Creston-based T.A. Rendek and Associates Ltd is overseeing the work, which will happen in phases to ensure ongoing care is provided.

The improvements include a dedicated triage area; two new trauma bays; renovated patient exam bays to improve privacy; new utility rooms; and an enclosed multi-purpose meeting room for family consultations.

The project is being funded by the Province of BC through the Ministry of Health and the West Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital District. The Arrow Lakes Hospital Foundation and the Arrow Lakes Health Care Auxiliary Society have also committed to supporting these important enhancements to emergency care.
