UPDATE: Police searching for missing Nelson woman

2 p.m. UPDATE: Nelson Police thank the community for their assistace in locating Marieke Thiessen, who was found safe by police at 2 p.m.

Nelson Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance to help find 49-year old, Marieke Thiessen of Nelson, BC.

Ms. Thiessen was last seen on May 29th 2024 in the Government Road area.

The Nelson Police Department is asking anyone who sees Ms. Thiessen to call the police immediately on 250-354-3919.

Marieke Thiessen is 49 years of age and described as 5’5”, 121 pounds, brown hair and hazel eyes.

She is potentially wearing a pink dress with a grey knitted sweatshirt over top, black leggings, however typically wears baggy dark clothing and a baseball cap.
