Trump delivers on tariffs

As promised, U-S President Donald Trump has ordered 25 per cent tariffs to be imposed on all steel and aluminum imports, including those from Canada.

But they won’t go into effect until March 4th.

Trump says the move will help stimulate renewed economic growth in the U-S.

He admits prices will rise but the short-term pain will be worth it in the long run.

Canada provides the largest source of foreign steel to the U-S by weight nearly a quarter of steel imported by American businesses.
