Hway 6 still breaking up

The ground has still been moving under Highway 6 on the west side of the Arrow Lakes near the Needles ferry dock.

The highway has been shut down since last week when it started to break up.

Hugh Eberle with the Ministry of Transportation says they’ve done another geo-technical inspection but ground water continues to wash under the road.

A logging road detour is in place but very heavy trucks can’t use that.

Eberle can’t yet say when the repairs will start.
