Trail to demolish properties ahead of big project year

Before the city of Trail can begin construction on its two big projects for 2015 they will be demolishing two existing properties.

The city will be removing a house on Riverside Avenue to potentially provide utility routes over for the Pedestrian Pipe Bridge

A proprety on Bay Avenue adjacent to the lot of the planned Riverfront Centre will also come down.

Public works suggested the process could start next week.

Here’s CAO David Perehudoff.

Perehudoff says the Regional Fire Services will actually be using the Riverside Avenue property as fire practice and will burn the old home.

The City will hire a contractor to tear down the building beside the Library/Museum lot.
