March push against distracted driving

Each year on average 32 people are killed on Southern Interior roads because of distracted driving-related crashes.

This from ICBC as they kick off a major March-long blitz on phone use along with the government and police departments.

ICBC says there will also be community policing cell watch volunteers roadside in Nelson reminding drivers to leave their phones alone.

Penalty points are now deducted from your licence as well as the $167 for using a phone while driving.
