More daily records as local warm winter continues

The relatively warm and mainly dry winter continues in our region.

Forecaster Jesse Ellis with the South East Fire Centre in Castlegar is reporting seven daily maximums and seven daily mean maximums for February.

An example of one of the daily records was 12.2 C on February 20th.

We didn’t see an all-time record high for February but Ellis says the valley snow pack was all gone after heavy rain early last month and that doesn’t happen very often.

We had 81% more rain than we normally get in February.
