RDCK Fire Chief says service needs full-time Deputy

The RDCK says all their volunteer fire departments should be fully trained to the latest standards for interior fire-fighting before 2018.

But their Fire Chief Terry Swan says that can’t happen without a full-time Deputy .

The RDCK has not yet decided if it wants to fork out another salary on this full-time Risk Management Officer – who would likely be the Deputy Chief.

Swan says it’s clear our region needs to have one and he’s been asking for it for three years.
