Money concerns for Trail festival organisers

The less Trail City council spends the better they feel.

So says the President of Silver City Days Ian McLeod after council allocated $38,000 for this year’s edition of the event – down from their near $47,000 request.

Council expressed concern about an $8,000 jump from the 2014 budget.

Council said the organisers have a $12,000 reserve fund so that will make up the funding difference.

McLeod says they were expecting to perhaps spend half of the reserve but not all of it.
