The West Kootenay Economic Development Dialogue is to consider restructuring.
Co-chair Andrea Wilkey says they are looking at the best format to collaborate between Nelson, Castlegar, Rossland and Trail.This after Trail mayor Mike Martin suggested last week the Dialogue would continue on without the leaders of each community sitting at the table until a meeting in June.
Wilkey wouldn’t confirm that local Mayors are done with the group but says going forward they’ll still want input from local governments.
The June meeting will be with the Columbia Basin Rural Development Institute who will share business retention and expansion research for the West Kootenay.
Wilkey suggests they’ll use that information to collaborate with the municipalities.
