Probes of local police shootings about one-third done

It will probably be many more months before we get answers in two local police shootings.

That’s judging from the latest online update from BC’s Independent Investigations Office.

Probes into the deaths of Peter de Groot (pictured) and Waylon Edey are both considered about one-third complete.

De Groot was shot in October outside of Slocan after a search that lasted several days.

Edey died after being shot on the Kinnaird bridge during an attempted traffic stop in January.
