The Nelson Regional Sports Council is no longer operating the Savoy Lanes bowling alley.
Executive director Kim Palfenier says there were three reasons behind the decision.
Palfenier says the decision was not made lightly and it took months of discussions.
The sports council bought the facility in 2013 to avoid a closure.
Palfenier hopes another enterprise will take over the bowling lanes.
Kootenay Christian Fellowship owns the building.
