Waste station upgrades to go ahead

The upgrades to the Kaslo and Balfour waste transfer stations are back on track.

They were postponed in may after bids came in too high.

But Area Director Tom Newell says McNally Excavating has been given the contract and the two communities will be getting modern facilities.

The Balfour transfer station will include a weigh scale and work there will start later in the summer once the Kaslo job is finished.

An eight-week closure at Kaslo is set from June 15th.
