Tree fires near Slocan Park

Residents in the Slocan Valley may have noticed some wildfire personnel in their area Wednesday.

They were putting out three single-tree fires sparked by Sunday’s lightning.

A 3-person Initial Attack Crew was sent into the mountains by helicopter about 3-kilometres east of Slocan Park.

Meanwhile the current wildfire danger rating for our region is low to moderate with areas around Fruitvale and Nakusp at that moderate rating.
