Castlegar asks residents to tap off

The city of Castlegar is calling on residents to respect the current water restrictions

At the moment sprinkler use is allowed every other day depending on your house number – but that’s more relaxed than the tough restrictions in Nelson and Grand Forks.

Here’s mayor Lawrence Chernoff.

Chernoff says they aren’t going to be dishing out fines yet but people need to realise the city can only pump so much out of the Arrow Lake to keep up with demand.

After a rare wet weekend the forecast is calling for another week of hot, dry weather.
