Excessive speed worries police

A call from our local RCMP Traffic Services for people to slow down.

Sergeant John Ferguson says with the Shambhala Music Festival now upon us they have been increasing their patrols.

After 7 vehicles were impounded for speeding over the holiday weekend that number grew to 11 Tuesday.

Ferguson says a motorcyclist was clocked doing 185kmh at night!

A minimum fine for going in excess of 40kmh over the limit is $368 and demerit points …along with the 7-day impoundment.
