Canyon Lister Fire Department assisted at a grass fire at the Porthill / Rykerts Border Crossing that was sparked by the fire burning at the top of Parker Ridge, Northwest of Bonners Ferry.

Meidl says the fire did close the border for some time.
Meidl says the grass fire has been contained.
The  Porthill / Rykerts Border Crossing has since re-opened.
