US wildfire nearing Grand Forks

A large blaze is looming south of the border.

The 37,000 acre Kettle Complex fire has it’s northern front 6km south of Grand Forks.

Sarah Foster, a Public Information Officer in Washington State, says they are well aware of concerns residents in the Boundary may have.


Foster says there has been regular dialogue and face-to-face meetings between the US forest service and BC Wildfire Service as well as local fire crews in the Boundary.
