Should Grohman Narrows project proceed?

Energy benefits from deepening Grohman Narrows would just about pay for the excavation required.
That’s one detail BC Hydro is sharing as it seeks public input on whether to proceed to phase two of the project.
Manager Kelvin Ketchum says there’s no deadline but they’d like to decide in the next few months.
He says they’d like to inform people and guage public support – adding that the project can go away if there’s all kinds of opposition.
The proposed improvements to the Kootenay River bottleneck are to provide greater flood control.
