Arts & culture groups battle for Nelson CBT funding

The challenges of allocating this year’s Columbia Basin Trust Community Initiative Funding in Nelson was particularly difficult in the arts and culture sector.

Up to 35% of the $126,000 is earmarked for that group.

Councillor Donna Macdonald says that was over subscribed.

…so that made things tough for the jury who advises council.

Artwalk 2014, a Nelson Fine Arts exhibition and Selkirk Concert Series were among the top recipients.

In the general category the renovation of the CP Rail Station was again the leading beneficiary.
