Aquatic Centre repair among major rec issues

The RDCK says how to pay for the big Nelson Aquatic Centre repair was one of the main issues in their recent open houses.

GM of Community Services Joe Chirico says it’ll cost $4.5 million and will be done next year but people wanted to know why they chose a 5 year borrowing period instead of 10.

The owner of a $400,000 home will pay $27 a year more in taxes.

Chirico says public input on the future of recreation sites and services and been good and the public has until next Friday to offer comment online at rdck.ca/masterplan.

The input will guide final recommendations regarding the five year Parks and Rec Masterplan.
