Tackling Baker Street lights vandalism

The Nelson Downtown Christmas Lighting Project has been a resounding success, but vandalism is an issue.

Organizer Maureen Crawford says 20% of the tree trunk lights were vandalized or stolen last year … she thinks at the hands of late-night revelers coming out of the bars.

She hopes to have heavy duty timers in place by this season.

Crawford and her small group of seniors aim to reach their goal of having every building and tree on Baker Street lit for this third season.
