Water Ambassador on Castlegar streets

A water ambassador is on patrol in Castlegar this summer.

Laura Smit is travelling through the city’s neighbourhood offering free lawn and garden watering assessments.

Smit – who graduated from Selkirk College’s Recreation, Fish and Wildlife program – says there is also a by law education project taking place in the city this summer.

 

Smit says residents are familiar with the program and receptive to her advice.

She adds its a good idea that Castlegar will be implementing a universal water metering program next year.

The city has an alternating day watering schedule for residents.
