City of Nelson salaries near 10 million

The City of Nelson’s total salary bill is over two and half times that of Castlegar’s and approaching twice as much as Trail’s.
This according to figures released in public disclosure statements for 2013.
Queen City taxpayers funded a wage bill of $9.6 million with 37 employees earning over $75,000 and 16 of those in excess of a $100,000.
Trails’ wages totaled $5.4 million with three staff exceeding a hundred thousand.
Castlegar’s salary costs were $3.6 million with six employees over the 100,000 level.
Of the Regional Districts the RDCK wasn’t far behind Nelson’s salary expenses at 9.1 million .
Five RDCK employees earned over a hundred thousand.
The RDKB’s total costs were 7 million with 16 staff earning over 6 figures.
