What caused a power line fire in Nelson?

Nelson Hydro is working with the Fire Department to investigate what caused that power line to start a fire against a house last week.

Vines growing around the line on Granite Road added to the flames but the utility’s General Manager Alex Love says they’ll be checking various components.


Love says this is the first time he’s seen this happen in the Queen City.

He adds Nelson Hydro offers a free service of disconnecting your overhead mains line to allow you to clear away trees and shrubs.
