Trail's boundary expansion could unravel

A mitigation deal with the Beaver Valley isn’t a foregone conclusion and depending on the final figures Trail’s boundary extension attempt could unravel.
Silver City CAO David Perehudoff says the City appreciates the policies of the Ministry when dealing with regional services.

But Trail is concerned the expectations of the Regional District may be beyond the requirements of the Ministry and that could affect overall financial parameters of the boundary extension.

Perehudoff explains if the numbers go the wrong way as far as the City is concerned boundary expansion into the Columbia Gardens Industrial area may not be favorable.

He adds it appears the RDKB is requesting mitigation on certain services that are not part of the province’s policy on boundary expansion.
