Lightning causes two small fires in our region

It may have been raining but we have two new fire starts in our region.
South East Fire Centre’s Jordan Turner says the first is about 5 kilometres south of Trail.
He says we’ll be seeing plenty of fixed wing aircraft activity in our local skies the next few days as spotters work to identify multiple reports of smoke from lightning strikes.
With more hot weather coming this weekend crews are hoping to get on these new fires before they get any bigger.
