Woman dies in Casino roll over

RCMP are investigating after a fatal single vehicle crash on Violin Lake road outside of Trail.

Police responded after a call around 6 pm Saturday that a vehicle had rolled several times and two occupants were ejected.

Responders found one of them deceased at the scene.

Sergeant Darren Oelke says speed might be a factor as the accident happened on a dirt road.

A 43 year old Trail woman is dead and a 38 year old man was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Oelke says alcohol is not believed to be a factor but investigators don’t think either occupant was wearing a seatbelt.

He adds it is not yet clear who was the driver.
