Smokey skies prompts health advisory

The smokey skies in parts of our region are getting to the point where they may be a health concern for some people.

The province has issued a Wildfire Smoke Advisory for Castlegar and Nelson and their respective surrounding areas for the weekend.

The high particulate concentrations are a result of the long distance movement of smoke from wildfires in the BC Interior as well as Washington and Idaho.

A Smoky Skies Advisory has also been issued for the Boundary.

People with heart and lung conditions in particular should reduce their exposure to the smoke.
