Indoor facility can make money for Nelson:city manager

The city of Nelson can expect a good pay-back from the deal announced this week on the indoor soccer facility.

This from City Manager Kevin Cormack who says the $350,000 they’re lending Nelson Youth Soccer to take over the Soccerquest site will produce dividends after five years.

He says it’s well used already but they can generate even more revenue.


Cormack says bringing the Whitecaps Youth Program indoors, offering it for other field sports and increasing day-time student use can boost income for a city-owned building.
