Big turn out for parent education rally

A big show of support in Nelson Wednesday for more funding for the public education system.

About 500 parents and kids marched along Baker St.

One of the organisers Lucas Myers – whose partner is a teacher – says parents need to force the government’s hand.


He says parents have not had a voice in this dispute and they want the government to prioritize their public funding.

Here’s Kendra Mann with the district Parent Advisory Council.


As a criticism of the government’s childcare payment scheme during the teachers strike organisers handed out fake $40 bills for parents to sign and message which will then be delivered to Victoria.
