Man dies after 200ft fall near Silverton

RCMP are treating the tragic death of a man near Silverton as a case of misadventure.

SGT Darryl Little says the 30 year old went off to walk the Bannock Pointe trail late Thursday night with another man.

He was wearing a headlamp but at some point his friend realised he’d gone over the 200-foot drop.


Little says it may have been mossy underfoot and that coupled with poor lighting and alcohol appear to be factors.

The deceased is Australian and was living in Argenta.
