At least one Nelson city councillor figures more taxpayer dollars may help alleviate some of the concerns about the cutting back of the Queen City’s famous treescape.
Deb Kozak is speaking after council met arborists from Nelson Hydro and the city to discuss the public concern about aggressive pruning of tree limbs around power lines.
Kozak says staff will come back with recommendations at Monday’s council meeting.
Kozak says because there’s been limited funding for pruning it hasn’t happened regularly and so when it does get done the trees take a big hit.
Council hit the pause button on the current tree pruning after the public complaints.
