Nelson councillor seeks examples of homeless camp successes

A Nelson city councillor says the people advocating for a permanent outdoor homeless camp need to demonstrate success stories and examples from other facilities.


Donna MacDonald is speaking following a call from Pastor Jim Reimer with Kootenay Christian Fellowship for the Queen City to help fund a feasibility study.

That would determine if such a camp is possible and where it would go.

Nelson is being asked for up to $5,000 with neighboring rural areas having committed money already.
