Good news for Midway and Greenwood.
The West Boundary Community Forest has been approved by government.
Midway mayor Randy Kappes says it gives them some control and various options regarding their main economic sector.
And there will be some educational opportunites too.
The community forest covers about 17,000 hectares with an annual allowable cut of 23,000 cubic metres.
