Greenwood hails speedy community forest go ahead

The realization of a local economic generator in the  Boundary came a little quicker than expected.

Greenwood mayor Nipper Kettle is speaking to the government’s official approval for the West Boundary Community Forest which they will run along with Midway.

It took only four years to happen after the ministry initially recommended the two communities go down this path.


The community forest will bring revenue to Midway and Greenwood via log sales and possible specialist lumber further down the line.

Local trails will be preserved and high school students will be trained in forestry.
