The Nelson Fire and Police departments are investigating a suspicious fire that caused damage to the Academy of Oriental Sciences building.
It happened in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Crews arrived with smoke coming from the basement and main floor.
Two occupants had tried to put the fire out with extinguishers but it didn’t work.
Damage is estimated at $25,000.
