Quick detection and reporting probably helped save the old building – that stores the Nelson Tramway cars – from much greater damage.
The fire department responded to a report of smoke in the car barn Tuesday afternoon.
The source of the fire appears to have been under the floor .
Damage was restricted to about $500.
