KBRH $40 million reno concept …and $400 for a new facility

Interior Health has presented some preliminary costs regarding two future hospital scenarios in our region.

$40 million could be spent to renovate KBRH in Trail within an 18 month period. That would include a new emergency room,ambulatory care unit and pharmacy.

Also $400 million is needed for a brand new hospital, but that could take about ten years to happen.

IH’s Norma Malanowich says it’s not an either or situation.


IH will get back to the regional board with more details likely in the Spring.

Capital projects require regional taxpayers to pay up to 40%  of the costs.
