Memorial benches huge success

Castlegar’s Memorial sponsorship program has proven very popular with residents.
Since starting the program in May the city has seen 15 of the available 17 park benches applied for by families looking to remember a loved one.

Councillor Dan Rye says for now all of those benches are set for Millenium Park.

Rye believes a lot of people have seen the recent developments in Millenium Park and realize it’s a focal point of the community and so the memorial bench will be noticed.

Residents can also remember friends or family with trees, picnic tables or bike racks.
