Nelson council moves proposed medical clinic to next phase

Nelson council has passed second reading for the application for a new private medical clinic to be built opposite the Kootenay Lake Hospital ER.

It requires an Official Community Plan and zoning change as the land is currently zoned for residential.

In supporting the two-storey project councillor Paula Kiss says council needs to be realistic about the chances of homes ever being built opposite the big hospital.


The city will next host a public open house – likely in January.

Only then can a Public Hearing take place followed by possible final approval .
