Trees are being put back along the Connors Road pathway in Castlegar.
City councillor Dan Rye says the move is being made after the volume of complaints they’ve received from residents in the neighborhood about the loss of a natural sound barrier.
Residents – including council candidate John Phillips – have complained there was no demand for the pathway and it was a waste of money. The city says the project is aimed at promoting walking and cycling around town.
Castlegar received $100,000 in provincial funding to put toward the $250,000 pathway project.
