Name change for Highway 3?

Highway 3 could get an official name change to the “Southern Provincial Highway.”
This would be part of a 10 year plan by the B.C government that would help create an indentity for the road that is seen as a critical trade corridor for the communities along it.Castlegar mayor Lawrence Chernoff – a representative on the Highway Three Coalition – says the plan would see work done around Hope and Princeton that would allow for better traffic flow and create economic benefits for all municipalities.

Chernoff says the province has done their own social – economic study that illustrates potential benefits to municipal economies.

He adds the coalition will sit down with the government in the coming months to see how the 10 year plan is developing.
