New Rossland mayor sets up new committees

The new mayor of Rossland Kathy Moore has fulfilled her election promise by setting up some new council committees.

One of them will be on communications.

The city will work with Rossland-based online consultation company Thought Exchange to create a communications strategy.

Moore says it’ll cover everything including the physical aspect of how council engages with the public.

Moore has also created other committees, some of which aim to offer better oversight of public works and administration as well as community groups funding.

At Monday night’s inaugural meeting Moore was elected as Rossland’s Director to the regional district saying negotiating an equitable recreation agreement is among the community’s priorities.
