Unlikely avian flu will impact our area:chicken farmer

A local chicken farmer does not think our area is susceptible to the avian flu outbreak that has hit the Frazer valley.

Judy Morton runs Tulaberry farm and Passmore Pluckers mobile abattoir.

Wild birds can spread the virus but she says if chickens are housed properly there should be no risk … and the time of year also helps.

Morton only gives well-water to her chickens because river water could be contaminated by wild birds.
